  The 2022 China Soong Ching Ling Foundation "Junior Cultural Ambassadors" event is trending across the world.

  With the support of the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation of China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the event is sponsored by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People (CSCLSCC) and the China Cultural Centers Overseas.

  On July 22, the China Culture Center in Sydney and Australia Soong Ching Ling Foundation (ASCLF) hosted the Sydney selection at the Glengarry Jinwen Gallery.

  Xiao Xiayong, director of the China Culture Center in Sydney and its vice director Liu Dong were present at the event. Other distinguished guests included ASCLF founding chairman Chen Xinghui, ASCLF honorary chairman Zhou Lang and vice chairman Zhu Jingyun. Shen Tie, executive vice president of the Australian Council of Chinese Organizations also attended the event. Yu Junwu, head of the Huaxing Arts Group Australia, was one of the three judges.

  A total of 20 teenagers were selected for the offline competition. Some of them recited poems, and some performed singing or dancing.

  Both judges and audience were impressed by their passionate and skillful performances.

  Finally, five Australian contestants aged from 13 to 16 got the chance to the final match of the 2022 China Soong Ching Ling Foundation "Junior Cultural Ambassadors" event. They are Katherine Hartwig, Mia Gu, Chen Yiheng, Chen Yuyi and Jiang Tao.

  Xiao said that teenagers are ambassadors of China-Australia culture exchanges and friendship. "Through the competition, we can see Australian teenagers' passion for Chinese culture, and the deep-rooted China-Australia friendship.

  Distinguished guests award a contestant a certificate.

  Under the theme of "Get Connected Through Art: My Favorite Chinese Arts," the event encourages young people aged 13 to 16 to tell stories about Chinese culture in various forms such as calligraphy, painting, drama or music. Thirty teenagers will finally win the title of "Junior Cultural Ambassadors" and the awarding ceremony will be held at the end of the year.
